ABOUT US
Apply to Join Our Board of Directors
Alaska Children’s Trust board, staff, and committees are dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect in Alaska. We share a common belief that every child can grow up safe, happy, and able to achieve their dreams. Unfortunately, that is not the case for many Alaskan children. Thousands of children every year suffer from the impacts of child abuse and neglect.
Our Board
Our board is a diverse group of leaders, educators, and community members passionate about building an Alaska where every child grows up safe, supported, and thriving.
Board directors serve three-year terms and meet four times a year for a full day. In addition, they:
Champion our mission: Help keep ACT focused on what kids and families across the state actually need, and speak up for that vision in the community.
Show up and dig in: Attend at least 75% of board meetings, serve on a committee, and come prepared to help make thoughtful decisions.
Guide the big picture: ACT’s board is a governing board, not a working board. You will offer strategic direction to the organization and support our president and CEO in moving it forward, rather than handling day-to-day operations.
Help fundraise: Make a meaningful annual contribution and support the organization’s overall fundraising plan.
Bring your whole self: Share your expertise, compassion, and commitment, and help us grow as a board that reflects and serves all of Alaska.
