ANNUAL EVENT

Child Abuse Prevention Month

Each April, organizations across the nation raise awareness of the impacts of child abuse and neglect.

With thousands of substantiated cases of abuse and neglect in Alaska each year, Child Abuse Prevention Month helps connect parents, partner organizations, educators, and every Alaskan with positive parenting techniques, awareness messages, and ways to spur positive childhood experiences.

ANNUAL EVENT

Mush For Kids

Each spring, Alaska Children’s Trust hosts a day of fun activities for families in Fairbanks.

The event focuses on the 5 Strengthening Families protective factors and includes dog sled rides, puppy petting, games, resources for families, and more.

ANNUAL EVENT

Champion For Kids

Each fall, Alaska Children’s Trust recognizes individuals that have demonstrated dedication and commitment in working to prevent child abuse and neglect by ensuring that children and youth live in safe, supportive, and nurturing communities. In conjunction with our award announcements, ACT begins a month-long challenge campaign, encouraging individuals and organizations alike to raise a matching goal that helps make our vision of a future without child abuse and neglect a reality.

ANNUAL EVENT

Alaska Afterschool Conference

Each fall, the Alaska Afterschool Network, a program of Alaska Children’s Trust, convenes educators from across the state to enhance their skills for working with youth. Afterschool is a fabulous way for children and youth to build social and emotional skills, bolster their grades, participate in sports, and stay safe during the hours afterschool.

The Conference ensures that educators have the tools and skills they need to keep Alaska’s children and youth safe, healthy, and happy in afterschool.
