Tax-Advantaged Gifts

Contributing non-cash gifts to Alaska Children’s Trust is a smart approach that may result in tax benefits to you – and has greater impact in preventing child abuse and neglect. We are happy to assist you with the entire process of contributing non-cash resources – just let us know!

Stocks and Other Assets

Making a gift of appreciated securities is a smart way to have greater impact with tax advantages to you. When you donate appreciated stock you’ve held for over a year, you avoid capital gains tax on appreciation and claim a deduction for the full fair market value, making it a tax-efficient way to give to charity.

Donor-Advised Funds

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable investment account to support nonprofits you care about. When you open a DAF and fund it with cash, securities or other assets, you receive an immediate tax deduction. The funds are invested, grow tax-free, and are available for you to grant to charities anytime. Interested in creating a DAF? We can help!

Planned Giving

Planned gifts allow you to leave a powerful legacy of increased impact to the charities you care about. They include making a bequest within your will or estate plan, naming ACT as a beneficiary in your IRAs, 401(k) plans, profit-sharing plans or 403(b) plans. They are easy, intentional and cost you nothing now, but leave a powerful legacy.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

If you are 70.5 or older, you can make Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to the charities you care about. QCDs are simple to arrange and offer tax advantages to you. The amount transferred from your IRA is not added to taxable income. And, if you are over age 73, the amount is counted towards your yearly required mandatory distribution (RMD).
